Local Students Achieve Medals at International JewQ

  • May 2026

Students from Chabad of Palm Beach Gardens Hebrew School were recently recognized for their academic dedication in qualifying for the JewQ International Torah Championship game show.

To qualify, contestants studied over 100 pages of extracurricular Torah material from the Living Jewish JewQ curriculum and completed four exams over nine months. Students needed an average of at least 70 percent to earn a bronze medal and qualify for the Family Shabbaton retreat, while averages of 85 and 95 percent earned silver and gold medals, respectively.

We are proud to announce that Leon Dunoff achieved a gold medal and Lilly Brown earned a bronze medal.

The game show featured three interactive rounds: List It, in which students identified mitzvot from video clips, a fast-paced Buzzer Round, and a final challenge matching holidays to the Jewish calendar.

During the trip, the children enjoyed a wide range of outings, including theme parks, rides, arcades, and mega flying fun arenas, creating memories with Jewish peers from around the world. Parents experienced an enriching tour of the Crown Heights community, including 770, a sheitel store, the ladies mikveh, JEM, Ten Yad, and an authentic matzah bakery. The tour offered a firsthand glimpse into how the community preserves the Rebbe’s mission of kindness, cares for one another, and lives a deeply connected and purposeful communal life.
