Susan Shulman Pertnoy and Ronnie Pertnoy, two prominent leaders of Palm Beach’s Jewish community, have been selected as co-chairs of the 2026 Jewish Federations of North America General Assembly, one of the largest and most influential gatherings of Jewish leadership in North America.
Held November 8-10 in Washington, DC, the General Assembly (GA) brings together thousands of Jewish leaders, philanthropists, professionals, volunteers, and changemakers from across the continent to address the most pressing issues facing Jewish communities today while helping shape priorities for the future.
The appointment puts the Palm Beaches at the helm at a pivotal time, with conversations expected to focus on strengthening Israel and Jewish communities worldwide, confronting rising antisemitism, and building on increased Jewish engagement. Jewish Palm Beach is the fourth largest Jewish community in North America and among the fastest growing.
“Susan and Ronnie’s selection to lead this premier gathering is an extraordinary honor for them and for our entire community,” shared Michael Hoffman, president and CEO, Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. “Their appointment reflects Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s position as a leader within the national Federation movement and ensures we will have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of Jewish life.”
As co-chairs, the Pertnoys will help guide the GA’s vision and program, which convenes prominent experts in philanthropy, public policy, Israel, security, education, and community engagement. Both Susan and Ronnie have spent decades in leadership across the Palm Beaches, including Susan serving as Federation board chair from 2022 to 2024 and as the longtime host of Federation’s award-winning TV news magazine, mosaic.
The growing speaker lineup includes award-winning actress and advocate Selma Blair and MODI, one of the comedy circuit’s most sought-after performers, with additional speakers and program details to be announced this fall.
