Temple Judea of Palm Beach Gardens brought the spirit of Israel to life as students in its Youth Education Program religious school came together to celebrate Yom Ha’Atz’maut — Israeli Independence Day — with their very own Maccabiah Games.
Students were divided into blue and white teams — a nod to the colors of the Israeli flag — and the friendly competition was on. The games featured a lively mix of activities that had everyone cheering, laughing, and showing off their best moves and their Jewish knowledge. Students tested their agility in gaga and an obstacle course and put their minds to work in Jewish trivia and a scavenger hunt.
The event was organized and led by Temple Judea’s madrichim — the synagogue’s teen leaders who serve each Sunday in the classrooms as teachers’ aides, supporting Jewish education while developing their own leadership skills. Their enthusiasm and dedication made the day truly special.
The Maccabiah Games were a wonderful celebration of Israel, Jewish pride, and the joy of community.
Temple Judea is committed to making Jewish education engaging, meaningful, and fun, and this year’s Maccabiah Games were a perfect example of that mission in action.
