Annual Event Showcases Connection to Jewish Life

  • May 2026

Temple Judea of Palm Beach Gardens was filled to the brim with joy, pride, and the warmth of family as more than 200 people gathered for YEP Shabbat — an annual celebration bringing together students, parents, grandparents, and siblings for a truly special evening.

The service was a showcase of everything students have learned throughout the year in religious school. From Hebrew prayers to Jewish traditions, families watched with pride as their children demonstrated their growth and connection to Jewish life.

The evening also held a moment of profound meaning and solemnity. Temple Judea’s post-B’nei Mitzvah students participated in the Remember a Child program, honoring the memory of a child who perished in the Holocaust. During the recitation of Kaddish, students spoke the name of the child they were remembering — giving voice to a life that was lost and ensuring that name was not forgotten. In the spirit of Yom HaShoah, which fell just days later, this moving tribute served as a powerful reminder of the importance of memory, of bearing witness, and of the responsibility each generation carries to ensure the stories of the six million are never forgotten.

After services, families lingered — as only a good Shabbat dinner can make you do — enjoying a delicious meal together and plenty of schmoozing. The laughter and conversation that filled the room were a testament to the warmth and community that define Temple Judea.
