On a beautiful Friday summer evening, families, friends, and neighbors gathered to welcome Shabbat with music, prayer, laughter, and the sound of the ocean in the background. As the sun began to set at Loggerhead Beach, children helped lead prayers before running off to play in the sand, while adults settled into beach chairs, sang along to familiar melodies, and connected with old friends and new faces. The evening reflected the warm, welcoming spirit that has become a hallmark of the growing Tamid Palm Beach community.
“One of the things we love most is seeing people of all ages sharing these moments together,” said Rabbi Feivel Strauss. “At every gathering, familiar faces reconnect and new friendships begin. Whether someone comes every month or is joining us for the very first time, there’s a place for them here.”
For many attendees, the beach setting offered a natural and relaxed way to experience Shabbat. Families felt comfortable bringing young children, newcomers found an easy entry point into Jewish life, and conversations continued long after the final prayer.
“When we sing together outside, it feels different,” said Cantor Abbie Strauss. “People relax, children feel free to be themselves, and there’s something special about welcoming Shabbat with the ocean beside us. The music brings everyone together.”
As the service came to a close, families lingered along the shoreline, children played near the water’s edge, and friends stayed to catch up as the sky shifted from blue to shades of pink and gold.
The evening was another reminder of what Tamid Palm Beach is building: a joyful, multigenerational Jewish community where people can connect, celebrate, learn, and grow together.
