Temple Emanu-El of Palm Beach announces the appointment of Rabbi Fabian Werbin as its new spiritual leader. Rabbi Werbin succeeds Rabbi Michael Resnick, whose 19 years of dedicated leadership have left a lasting legacy on the congregation.

Rabbi Werbin brings more than two decades of rabbinic leadership, educational innovation, and community engagement to Palm Beach. His career has spanned congregations in Colombia and the United States, most recently serving at Kol Shalom in Rockville, MD, where he was recognized for expanding educational opportunities, strengthening community connections, and fostering interfaith dialogue.

Born and raised in Argentina, Rabbi Werbin received his rabbinic ordination from the Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano in Buenos Aires, one of Latin America’s premier institutions for Conservative Jewish leadership. Throughout his career, he has established preschool programs; taught Torah, Talmud, and Jewish philosophy; developed lifelong learning initiatives; and inspired congregants of all ages to engage in community service and acts of kindness.

Rabbi Werbin has relocated to Palm Beach with his wife, Patricia, a psychologist and Jewish educator, and their two youngest children, while their two oldest attend university.

“I grew up in a home filled with a deep love for Israel, the Hebrew language, Jewish tradition, and the Jewish people,” said Rabbi Werbin. “Those values inspired me to become a rabbi, and every day I feel grateful for the opportunity to serve the Jewish community. Patricia and I are excited to join the Temple Emanu-El family, and we look forward to growing together, learning together, and sharing many meaningful milestones with this wonderful congregation.”

Temple President Sheri Levine added, “After an extensive national search, our congregation welcomes Rabbi Werbin’s warmth, intellect, and vision for the future. He possesses the unique ability to connect with people of every age and background while inspiring a vibrant Jewish community rooted in learning, compassion, and service. We are excited to begin this next chapter together.”
