The Mishpacha Make It a Sweet Year initiative brought nearly 50 volunteers together to prepare and deliver hundreds of Rosh Hashanah gift packages to members of the greater Palm Beach Gardens Jewish community.
Each package was filled with thoughtful touches to help make the High Holy Days a little sweeter — honey cake, honey candy, candles, apples and honey imported from Israel, and a holiday guide filled with inspiring words and helpful information for celebrating the holidays at home.
The packages were delivered to community members who are homebound, going through a challenging time, or simply not yet connected to the local Jewish community. Volunteers shared how meaningful it was to facilitate, while recipients expressed how touched they were to know that someone was thinking of them. For some who had recently moved to the area, this was their very first Jewish community experience.
