Cantorial soloist Jessy Wald singing at the Temple Beth Am bimah

Temple Beth Am has welcomed Jessy Wald as its new cantorial soloist. Jessy brings a beautiful voice, years of experience, formal musical training, and a deep love of Jewish prayer.

Jessy holds a master’s degree in music, but her connection to the bimah began long before graduate school. She has helped lead services since her bat mitzvah, and Jewish worship has remained central to her musical and spiritual life ever since. When Jessy sings, she doesn’t simply perform. She invites people to join in, to listen differently, and to experience familiar prayers anew.

Collaboration is at the heart of her approach. She loves making music with instrumentalists, blending voices with other singers, and building harmonies in which everyone contributes something of their own. That spirit of partnership makes her a wonderful fit for Temple Beth Am, where music has long brought generations together and turned a room full of individuals into a praying community.

Jessy also arrives with an expansive vision for the congregation’s musical life: frequent musical Shabbat services, a revived congregational choir, and a Temple Beth Am house band. These programs will give members the chance not only to hear inspiring Jewish music, but to help make it.
