Tamid Palm Beach welcomed families for its monthly Tot Rock program on a recent Sunday morning, from across Palm Beach and Martin counties. The gathering featured bubbles, tambourines, and live music, with children dancing and playing under the palm trees outside.
Tot Rock is led by Cantor Abbie Strauss, who has written and produced two children’s albums and brings original, kid-friendly music to the monthly program. Designed for toddlers and young children, Tot Rock offers an informal, play-based setting where families can engage with Jewish music and community without the structure of a formal service.
“A toddler won’t remember a sermon, but they’ll remember a song,” Cantor Strauss said. “If we want our children to grow up feeling joy when they think of Judaism, the easiest way in is through music. A melody sticks long after the words are forgotten, and what sticks becomes who they are.”
Organizers said the turnout reflected Tot Rock’s growing reach, with families traveling from outside the immediate area to attend alongside neighborhood regulars.
