Nearly 100 congregants, elected officials, community leaders, and supporters gathered last month as Temple Israel officially dedicated its new home, celebrating a transformative milestone in the congregation’s 103-year history and reaffirming its role as a vibrant center for Jewish life in the Palm Beaches.

Hosted in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, the celebration featured an official ribbon cutting and remarks from clergy and civic leaders, which recognized the vision, generosity, and community-wide collaboration that made the new campus possible.

“This is not simply a new building. It is a forward-looking model designed to strengthen Jewish engagement, foster collaboration, and serve as a lasting communal asset to meet the evolving needs of Jewish life in the Palm Beaches,” shared Rabbi Ryan Daniels.

Rabbi Carlie Daniels, added, “This new home represents an exciting new chapter in Temple Israel’s history. It reflects years of vision, dedication, and faith in our future, and stands as a testament to what is possible when a community comes together with purpose and hope.”

Founded in 1923 as Palm Beach County’s first Jewish congregation and today the City of West Palm Beach’s only Reform synagogue, Temple Israel is entering a new era after more than 75 years at its former campus. The new home is designed to strengthen Jewish engagement, foster meaningful connections across generations, and serve as a welcoming gathering place for worship, education, celebration, and community.

“In Jewish tradition, sacred spaces have always been about more than buildings,” said Michael Zeff, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. “Today we celebrate these four walls, but even more importantly we celebrate the families, the community, and the congregation that will fill them with prayer and purpose for generations to come.”

The event also featured remarks from West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James and Palm Beach County Commissioner Gregg Weiss, before leadership cut the symbolic, celebratory ribbon.

Mayor James, shared, “For more than a century, Temple Israel has been a cornerstone of Jewish life in our community. It has helped shape the spiritual and cultural fabric of our city for generations. This beautiful new home marks an exciting new chapter, and I know it will continue to be a place filled with worship, learning, fellowship, and celebration for many years to come.”
