Young Families Discover Judaism

  • January 2026

A recent Mom, Dad & Me gathering took place outdoors in the shul garden, creating a natural backdrop for a morning filled with family, connection, and early Jewish experiences.

One of the highlights was a parachute activity, where little hands helped bounce “apples” that had “fallen from the tree.” Participants also incorporated sensory play outdoors, with inviting bins filled with apples and leaves resting on soft, edible crushed-Cheerio “sand.” The kids scooped, poured, and played, enjoying the open space around them.

Families sang both Jewish and fall-themed songs. “Mitzvah bubbles” drifted through the garden as children chased, popped, and “caught their mitzvahs,” adding even more magic to the outdoor setting.

Families enjoyed a light brunch in the garden, giving parents an opportunity to connect while the children explored.

The morning was a beautiful reminder that children are never too young to begin discovering their Judaism. Through nature, music, movement, and play, their earliest experiences become joyful Jewish memories.
