Holocaust survivors from across Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee counties gathered for a High Holy Day celebration hosted by Ferd & Gladys Alpert Jewish Family Service. Nearly 100 attendees gathered in Greenacres for a festive Rosh Hashanah meal, live music, dancing, and an opportunity to connect and socialize. Each attendee also went home with a hot meal courtesy of Kind Kitchen.

Alpert JFS hosts gatherings for Holocaust survivors throughout the year in recognition of Jewish holidays, Holocaust Survivor Day, and Holocaust Remembrance Day. The agency provides direct services to approximately 200 survivors annually in Palm Beach County and beyond, helping ensure this cherished population continues to receive vital care, support, and opportunities for connection.

According to the Claims Conference, as of early 2026 approximately 196,600 Holocaust survivors were living worldwide, including roughly 31,500 in the United States and hundreds throughout South Florida.
